Wenger Commando™ Special Series
Wenger Watch S.A., Biel/Bienne, a subsidiary of the world-famous knife manufacturer Wenger S.A., Delémont, is introducing three new watch models this coming autumn. As a whole, the three independent models form an attractive and interesting unity. By systematically developing the successful Wenger Commando™ watch line, the company has created an unusual and unique trilogy.
Wenger Commando™ Swiss Mountain Commando
Swiss Mountain Commando (SMC) is a training contest held in Switzerland for profes-sional special armed forces commandos from the whole world. The combat search-and-rescue training program demands top performance from parachutists and search-and-rescue personnel. C-130 Hercules transport aircraft and helicopters were deployed dur-ing the last military exercise of this type.
The experience gained during the last training contest was used in the development of the new SMC special watch. The chronograph with an Swiss ETA mechanism with date display is equipped with a black PVD coated stainless steel case and a curved hard-mineral crystal. The watch is water-resistant to 100m and has a multiply adjustable nylon strap. This enables the watch to be worn over protective clothing, making it a valuable instrument for extreme operations in high mountains. The large, open dial with illuminated hands and markers, together with the special crystal’s slight magnifying effect, make it easier to read the time even under the most difficult conditions.
To mark this special watch, the colorful “Swiss Mountain Commando” logo is set into the base.
The new edition of Wenger Commando™ SMC will be available around the world as of end of August.
Wenger Commando™ Camouflage
Wenger, for more than one hundred years one of Swiss army’s two official suppliers, is predestined to contribute with a special watch to the global fashion trend in camouflage colors. The world’s premier fashion labels will bring out an entire range of camouflage colors and patterns this autumn.
The Commando chronograph has a strap made of Swiss protective camouflage tissue, and its clearly visible dial has the same reduced pattern in these fashionable camouflage colors. In a word, this watch is the ideal accessory for fashion-conscious men and women.
This watch has a stainless steel case and is equipped with an Swiss ETA chronograph mechanism with date display and a curved mineral crystal. It is water-resistant to 100m and its illuminated hands and markers guarantee optimal legibility even in the darkness.
The Wenger Commando™ Camouflage will also be available in stores around the world as of end of August.
Wenger Commando™ Athena
In this new model, Wenger Commando™ has undergone a remarkable transformation. With its high-polish case, delicately colored mother of pearl dial and leather strap in blue or pink, it has been especially designed for ladies. The Wenger logo – a Swiss cross – has been replaced in these watches by another symbol representative of Switzerland: A genuine mountain crystal shines at 12 o’clock!
Athena, Zeus’ favorite daughter and virgin warrior, is the patron of this watch. According to Greek mythology, Pallas Athena sprung forth from her father’s dead, the seat of divine thinking and wise counsel, bearing a helmet and breastarmer.
The chronograph with an ETA Swiss mechanism and with date display has a stainless steel case, a curved hard-mineral crystal, a genuine leather strap and illuminated hands and markers. It is also water-resistant to 100m.
Wenger Commando™ Athena will be available worldwide starting this autumn.
