Press release, April 2003
New products from Wenger Watch SA
Just in time for the 2003 World Watch and Jewellery Show in Basel,
the Biel-based watch company Wenger Watch SA is launching a number
of interesting new products.
For over a century the Wenger brand, one of the two manufacturers
of the famous Swiss Army knife, has set the same high standards in
both quality and design, manufacturing highly functional, reliable
products that offer the Swiss quality guarantee and excellent value
for money. Like the Swiss Army knives, all Wenger watches are designed
and manufactured to give consumers many years of pleasure and use.
So it goes without saying that the new models follow in the same vein.
Wenger Signature
The Wenger Signature, the flagship of the Wenger brand, is a sporty
watch for both men and women that comes either with or without a chronograph
function. The watch combines sporty functionality with elegant design.
The stainless-steel quartz watch features sapphire glass and a date
display and is waterproof to 100 m. The striking feature of this particular
watch is that the traditional Wenger logo - a Swiss cross on
a red background with rounded corners - appears three times,
namely on the dial, on the crown and on the metal bracelet. The chronograph
also has an easy-to-read tachymeter scale on the bezel. The watch
is available either with a specially designed - and therefore
water-resistant - leather strap or with a solid steel bracelet
and comes with either a white, dark blue or black dial.
The watch will be available worldwide from May. Prices for the three-hand
version start at CHF 370.00 and for the chronograph model at CHF 499.00.
Wenger Airwolf
Another new product is the Wenger Airwolf. This sporty, aviator design
watch has a large face opening which makes it easy to take in at a
glance. Its prominent, brightly luminous hands and indexes make it
easy to see the time even in poor light. It is available as a chronograph
with a tachymeter or as a gentleman's model with a 24-hour display.
The chronograph features an easy-to-read tachymeter and the 24-hour
display and second time zone mean that the watch can display the time
at both the point of departure and the destination. The stainless-steel
case of this quartz watch is fitted with mineral crystal, and the
timepiece is available either with a fine, real leather armband or
with a solid steel bracelet, and comes with a black face, polished
bezel and an exquisitely brushed, matt stainless-steel case. All this
makes the watch both elegant and yet sporty and robust.
This model will also be available worldwide from May onwards. In Switzerland
the price of the man's model will start at CHF 250.00 and the chronograph
at of CHF 398.00.
