History of Wenger Watch S.A.
It's a Matter of Time
Swiss chocolate, Swiss cheese and Swiss watches just like the Swiss
Army knife, stand for quality "Made in Switzerland". Wenger
S.A. with their Headquarters in Delémont in the Jura mountains,
established in 1893, is one of Europe's leading knife makers and one
of only two official producers of the Swiss Army knife. Skilled workers
abound in the Jura mountains, where watchmaking is a predominant industry,
manufacture the famous Wenger knives in multiple operations on the
latest machinery.
It was only a matter of time before Wenger S.A. would start designing
and selling its own range of watches; in fact, this happened approximately
ten years ago. The USA was initially looked upon as the exclusive
marketing outlet. Wenger watches, with their characteristic Wenger
logo incorporating the Swiss cross within a red square with rounded
edges, literally conquered that market. The annual sales in North-America
now reach several hundred thousand Wenger watches. The reputation
of the famous army knife with its inimitable features no doubt contributed
to this unassailable success - top functionality, reliability, Swiss
quality and best price/performance ratio.
Wenger Watch S.A. was established in October 1997 with the purpose
of building a world-wide distribution network for Wenger watches.
Peter Hug, President of the company, brings along vast experience
in the watch industry. New markets have already been opened in various
countries in South America, Asia and Europe.
All Wenger watches are designed and made to give their owners many
years of benefit and pleasure. The new collection includes sports
watches from the very simplest version up to top models which meet
the maximum requirements. |
